The Rev. C. J. Stewart, late a Missionary at the Sandwich Islands, preached last Sabbath in the First and Second Presbyterian Churches of this city. In his discourses, he stated many facts, of the most interesting character, relative to the state of the inhabitants of these Islands before the introduction of Christianity among them, and to the change which has already been effected by the teaching of the Missionaries.

A meeting will be held This Evening, at 7 o'clock, in the First Presbyterian Church, when further statements will be made by Mr. Stewart, and the friends of Missions will be invited to enter into an organization, so as to furnish aid to this great cause, in such manner as shall be easy and convenient to themselves.
