Full Text
The Cincinnati Commercial mentions the trial of a Life Preserving Trunk in the Ohio river on Thursday of last week. In the trunk was placed a lot of clothing and a variety of articles. From the mouth of Deer creek the inventor started seated on his diminutive craft; when opposite the foot of Main street he met the steamboat G. W. Sparhawk, and rode the wave safely, not a drop of water entering the trunk. On the Kentucky shore below Covington, he landed, and upon inspection, the contents of the trunk were found to be free from dampness.
