NEW ORLEANS, LA. - (SNS) Eight Negroes from New Orleans visiting the commons sponsored Youth Festival. The youths include Miss Patricia Bryant, Phyllis Bryant and Enes Krechen, vice president of the Dillard University Student Body.
The Negro youths are said to have prepared an exhibit depicting Negro life in New Orleans which includes homes, business, successful individuals, schools, hospitals and civic endeavors of Negroes in the Crescent City.
The leader of the group, white business man Richard Bell, said that the presence of these Negroes was intended to refute the many stories of segregation and discrimination so often circulated in Europe and other foreign countries.
"These Negroes," he said, "can do the best job possible to show that Negroes are not suffering in the United States."
