The "ring" now are not trying to
defeat Dr. Daubney alone. We believe
that, if they accomplish the defeat of
Dr. Daubney, they will defeat the
whole republican ticket. The leaders
of the opposition are now supporting
and working for the democratic candi-
date for representative, as they are for
senator. C. N. Goddard told Mr.
Klemme, our able candidate for repre-
sentative, before the county convention
that if he should receive and accept the
nomination for representative, or if he
would go on the ticket, that he was a
meaner man than Dr. Daubney.
They will not deny this. Does it
sound like they just wanted to defeat
Dr. Daubney because he is such a bad
man, in their political estimation, or
are they trying their best to disrupt
the republican party?
