THE DEMANDS OF THE
PEOPLE THROUGH THE NEWS.

Free transfers by ticket over the street railway routes within the city limits.
No central or sub-stations to serve as detention houses for passengers and as obstacles to regular and legitimate traffic in the public thoroughfares.
No gift of land belonging to the city on which the Union company may erect a central transfer station and by occupying it for its own offices and by the sale of privileges make large profits at the expense of the taxpayers.
The selection of candidates for the city government next November, who from mayor down will pledge themselves, if elected, to refuse all further privileges to the Union company until that corporation consents to grant a reasonable system of ticket transfers.
