Voluntary offering to the Heroic Walker.-- W. took an opportunity of stepping into Messrs. H, E. Baldwin & Co.'s store, Chartres street, yesterday, for the purpose of looking at a magnificent sword, which has been purchased by some of our citizens, as a gift to this intrepid patriot soldier.
It is certainly worthy of both donors and recipient- The hilt bears the following inscription: "Presented to Capt. Walker, of the Texan Rangers, by the citizens of New Orleans, as a token of their high esteem for his gallantry, and devotion to his country."-- N. O. Com. Adv.
