PROCEEDINGS OF THE REPUBLICAN COUNTY CONVENTION.

The Republican County Convention was called to order yesterday at 2 o'clock P. M., by the Chairman of the Central Committee, at the District Court Room.

The Convention was organized by the election of Mr. H. H. Bence as temporary Chairman and Mr. Benj. Edson as Secretary.

On motion of Mr. Geo. L. Gibson, a committee on credentials was appointed consisting of Messrs. Gibson, Wells and Tyrrell. The committee met at once and immediately reported the following list of delegates:

Carson Precinct-George L. Gibson, R. R. Brown, Geo. A. Tyrrell, Chris. Kitzmeyer, John A. Lovejoy, H. H. Bence, Elijah Walker, Thomas Wells, Peter J. Farrer, M. D. Hatch, D. K. Winter, Joseph Platt, N. J. Savier, A. W. Atchison, Benj. Hixon.

Empire Precinct-Thomas Beer, H. Deitchman, J. H. Martin, John Stiver, Perry, Isaac Lebo.

On motion of Mr. Wells, the Temporary officers of the convention were declared its permanent officers.

A certified list of the candidates who had received the highest number of votes at the primaries being received, the same were declared the nominees of the Republican party of Ormsby County.

On motion of Mr. Edson, the convention proceeded to elect a County Central Committee of five.

On motion of Mr. Wells, the election was conducted by ballot.

On motion of Mr. Gibson, the members from Empire selected their own (two) members of the committee; and the members from Carson precinct elected their three delegates.

Messrs. Hatch and Tyrrell were appointed tellers.

Upon the first ballot the following members of the County Central Committee were chosen:

For Carson, Thos. Wells, Chas. Martin and Thos. J. Edwards.

For Empire Township, W. J. Hamilton and A. J. Lockwood.

On motion of Mr. Tyrrell the convention adjourned sine die.

All this was performed in something less than half an hour.
