BUFFALO STRIKE TO CONTINUE.

Railway People Decide to Fight the Battle to a Finish.

Buffalo, N. Y., June 19.—Nothing has developed affecting the dock situation. The freight handlers held a largely attended meeting, and those present exhibited a determination to stay out until the railways agree to pay them 20 cents an hour for overtime. They expect the old dock workers to stand by them. On good authority it was stated that the railway people will absolutely refuse to change the rate of wages they are paying to the men. The superintendents at the different freight houses say that if the present demand of the men is granted there is a strong probability that another excuse for a strike will be found in a few days. Therefore they have decided to fight it out with the men now.

There are a number of vessels in the harbor loaded with package freight and grain. In order to get at the grain the grain shovelers have been unloading the freight. The freight handlers protested against this, and the scoopers have been instructed not to lift any more freight. A committee representing the striking freight handlers is to wait upon the different railroad companies this morning and present an ultimatum. Members of the committee say they expect a flat refusal and are prepared for it.
