COLUMBUS, O.—The codes committee of the Ohio legislature has approved the bill of Representative Chester Gillespie which would prohibit the trustees of Ohio State University from making any rules discriminating between students of the university on the basis of race, color or creed.
Messrs. Clayborne George and Charles W. White, of Cleveland, appeared before the committee last week.
The bill is the outgrowth of the Doris Weaver case in which the university refused Miss Weaver residence under same conditions as white girls in a practice cottage in a home economics course.
