ARBITRATION FAILS AND GLOUCESTER STRIKE CONTINUES

Gloucester, Mass., April 16.—The paving cutters' strike was continued today following the unsuccessful effort which was made Saturday night to bring the difficulty to an end by means of arbitration.

The 90 men employed by the Rockport Granite company voted at a secret meeting Saturday night to decline the offer of arbitration which had been made by the company and by the state board of arbitration. The strikers want an increase of $2.50 per thousand paving blocks.
