Absolutely No Details of
Accident May Be
Released

Two persons were killed in a
plane crash shortly before noon
today in an accident at the Juneau
airport.

Censorship regulations prevent
the publication of the names of
those killed until the next of kin
have been notified.

In spite of the fact that censor-
ship regulations prohibit publica-
tion of the details of such crashes
only when they are a result of war
causes, local authorities refused
this afternoon to release any in-
formation.

Late this afternoon, The Empire
received a wire from the Ketchi-
kan Chronicle asking for informa-
tion concerning the crash and
naming one of the victims.

It is not known whether or not
the next of kin have been notified
or how information concerning the
accident reached Ketchikan.

The bodies have been taken to
the Charles W. Carter Mortuary.

Because newspapers have been
asked to print only information
from official sources on such mat-
ters, The Empire regrets that de-
tails which have reached this
newspaper from other sources may
not be printed.
