Suit was filed in the circuit court by Allwort S. Cook against E. G. Lewis, president of the People's United States bank, for $425, alleged balance due on a promissory note for $1,000, and interest. Cook states that Lewis gave the note to the United States bank of Hartford, Conn., May 3, 1902, for three months, and that the petitioner indorsed it as a matter of accommodation.
