Full Text
This Quaker College (for such distinction it merits,) was established in the year 1819. It has been munificently endowed; and presents to view, an edifice about 220 feet in length, the height of the main story being three stories, and that of the wings two stories. It will accommodate 150 pupils, 75 of each sex. Three teachers of each sex are provided; and besides the ordinary elementary branches of education, the pupils are taught astronomy, chemistry, drawing and coloring of maps, algebra, surveying, navigation, &c. Latin, Greek, and French languages are also taught.
When the moral discipline of this unpretending sect is called to mind, it will be admitted that there is little necessity for adding that every attention is paid to the cultivation of correct principles.—National Jour.
