RALEIGH, (N. C.) Nov. 15.

On Thursday last, the Circuit Court of the United States commenced in this city. Present, the Chief Justice of the United States, and Judge Potter. Zachariah Graham, a mail carrier, was convicted of breaking open the mail, and sentenced to twelve months imprisonment, and Thomas Elliot, an Assistant Post-Master in Randolph county, for opening letters and taking sundry sums of money therefrom, was convicted and sentenced to be imprisoned for three years. The court is still in session.
