Pedro Etulian, 32, is in the county jail today on a charge of driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, and a woman who was riding with him near Boulder Park on the San Diego highway is in a hospital suffering from injuries officers said were caused by a beating at the hands of Etulian.
Etulian was arrested at Boulder Park and returned to the county jail in El Centro by Undersheriff Rodney Clarke.
Officers did not know the name of the woman riding with Etulian. District Attorney Elmer W. Heald this morning was preparing a complaint charging Etulian with drunk driving. He will probably be prosecuted in superior court.
