Full Text

FROM THE VIRGINIA GAZETTE.

It appears from the Olio of George-Town, that Governor M'Kean of Pennsylvania, once attacked the liberty of the press, in the same unwarrantable manner, as the three justices of Henrico county. He bound over William Cobbett to his good behaviour, for a supposed libel on the king of Spain. The only difference between Cobbett and Callender was, that the former entered into the recognizance exacted of him, and the latter did not. What an inclination the democratical gentlemen have to trample on the press!
