LITHONIA, Ga.- (SNS) - The powerful Atlanta Baptist Association, headed by Dr. M. L. King, Pastor, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Atlanta, opened its annual session here Tuesday night at Antioch Baptist Church, Rev. A. G. Davis host pastor.

Opening up with a peaceful board meeting at 6 p. m., where plans were completed for the general sessions the delegates then heard an able introductory sermon preached by Rev. J. R. Lovett, pastor, Friendship Baptist Church College Park his alternate being the Rev. E. M. Johnson, pastor, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Atlanta

PINKSTON, MAYS SLATED

Following an address to be delivered by Dr. B. E. Mays, president, Morehouse College, Dr. L. A. Pinkston, president, State Baptist Convention, will preach the educational sermon at 11 a. m. today

Interest continues to mount in the annual address to be delivered by Moderator King this afternoon He is expected to make a strong appeal to-Negroes to register and prepare to vote and touch on the Negroes' bid for real citizenship in this country and advocate a step-up drive for more funds for mission and educational work.

Following Moderator King's address, election of officers will hold the spotlight. Tonight Rev. W. W. Weaver, Atlanta, will preach the missionary sermon which will be preceded by welcome exercises with the host and church in charge. The Women's Convention, headed by Mrs. I. I. Henderson, Atlanta, meeting jointly with the parent body for the welcome program

MRS. HENDERSON'S ADDRESS

President Henderson stated that the women are out this year to put over one of their greatest programs. Today the women will hear addresses by Miss Janice Singleton and Mrs. Franklin Drake, white; Mrs. W. F. McKinney will conduct the preliminary drill and Rev. H. M. Jackson will address the body at 11:30 a.m. This afternoon President Henderson will deliver her annual address, preceded by seating of delegates by Mrs. N. W. Crawford. At 4 p. m. Mrs. M. S. Mc Cloud will conduct the Deacons' Wives Royal Circle program.

Rev. R. A. Graves, Atlanta, long-time clerk of the body, is playing a leading role at the meet, which has attracted throngs of people including many visitors. The association body is of upwards of 40 Churches in its bounds, and is considered as one of the most influential in Georgia
