Full Text
"The General's dispatches just going off, I have only to acquaint you with our vigorous preparations for a campaign, which we fondly flatter ourselves will be conducted to the fullest satisfaction of the Union--at least I will dare to pronounce it is much, no officers have ever exerted themselves with more assiduity and pains, from our faithful commander down to the lowest grade, with very few exceptions. Should we be victorious, I promise myself the felicity of being with you and our mutual friends, on or about Christmas."
