Full Text

A letter from a gentleman of distinction in a distant colony dated the 15th of April, very pertinently observes, that the system of influence is not confined to one government; there being no reason to doubt, but that administration expects to carry every important point, securely and quietly, by gaining the submission of men of interest in every colony. '.....I trust there is too much virtue still remaining in America; tamely to tolerate the humble lot in life, that wicked, or at least rash or misguided men have intended for us. God forbid! that I should find myself in a land, the people of which are willing to be slaves'----'I heartily wish that every colony would every year repeat her claim to liberty; for though the repetition, might not quickly obtain relief, it would keep up the spirit of Freedom in each, and of Union with one another.'
