Full Text
One of the things that are particularly pleasing to the residents of Lakeland is that everybody who comes to the city goes away with a good word for it and its people. Take, for instance, the Chautauqua talent. These folks go all over the country meet the best class of people, and know a good thing when they see it. Practically all of them expressed themselves as more than delighted with their stay here-with the scenic beauty of the place, its manifest progressiveness, and the kindly and appreciative character of its people. The same thing may be said of nearly every theatrical troupe of the better class that comes to the city. And as for the tourists-the men and women who come here in quest of health or pleasure-they simply rave over the attractions in which Lakeland is so rich. Truly, we are advertised by our loving friends.
