Full Text

Oct. 28. A dispute having arisen at the Theatre Italian at Paris, between the Chevalier de St.—and Count Potocki, a Polish nobleman, they agreed to decide the difference under an arch of the Pont-Royal, and that if one of them fell, the other, to avoid an immediate discovery, should throw the body into the river. After a few passes, the Chevalier was run through the body, and the Count immediately plunged him into the river. The body was taken up the next day at the bridge of St. Cloud. The Pole has absconded, and, in all probability, is already beyond the French territories.
