Full Text

A Letter from Bilboa has these words: "The Merchants here, and in most parts of Spain, notwithstanding the great advantages of the late Family Compact, begin to open their eyes with regard to the illegal proceedings of their dear Allies the French, in several important articles of commerce. By the last ships from the South Seas, great complaints are exhibited by the Foreign Factors, against the badness of the broad cloths palmed upon them by the French and Dutch, which have even been refused to be shipped for the Philippines by the Directors of the Manilla Company; which is not the only instance where French policy has taken the advantage of Spanish credulity in the affairs of trade."
