The Albany Argus, Atlas, Ohio Statesman, &c., received yesterday, concede the Member elect, from Huron and Erie Counties, Ohio, to the Whigs, and make a tie in Joint Ballot.— This is coming on. They have now only to give up one in Trumbull, (whence we have the official returns,) and then there will be a Whig majority of two in Joint Ballot. After that, they may hold on to the three Members from Fairfield and Coshocton as long as they please, but they will have to give them up at last, giving us eight in Joint Ballot. They shall be let off at that, seeing that the luck is against them.
The Evening Post thinks the success of the Loco-Focos in the late Elections has been "quite as much as could reasonably have been anticipated." This is becoming humility. By the rule of three, what kind of a threshing must they 'reasonably anticipate' next year?
The Committee at Tammany Hall, last evening, nominated Dr. Rawson, of the 16th Ward for Coroner.
