Full Text

Resonant Rodomontade.

The people would not be disposed to do so (re-nominate Lowry) even if his administration was above reproach, for such an action would be against all the precedents governing such cases- but, as it is, in view of his abortive governments of affairs, they will put their foot down firmly upon the idea of his re-nomination, and crush it like an egg shell on the meeting of the next State Convention, as surely as the sun will rise on that eventful day, big with the fate of Caesar and of Rome.-New Mississippian.

Has not our classical brother impregnated "the eventful day" with the wrong man? Wasn't it Cato? Possibly he has made an equal mistake as to the "idea" which the State Convention will crush.
