TO ATTEND INTERBOARD SCHOOL OF INSTRUCTION

Brooksville Methodism will be well represented in the District School of Instruction for church leaders to be held in First Methodist Church, Clearwater, October 24, under the direction of Bishop John W. Branscomb and leaders from the several general Boards of Methodism.

These Interboard Schools of Instruction are being conducted across the nation by the General Conference of the Methodist church.

Commenting on the movement in specialized training of church workers, Rev. Gyde C. Frazier said, "We feel this is a definite step in the right direction. It makes the best leadership in our church available to each local church as it attempts to do the best job possible in the continuing work of Christ and His Kingdom."

The members of the local church who will attend are T. S. Rice, Chairman of the Official Board and Church Lay Leader; H. P. Burhans, Chairman of the Commission on Membership and Evangelism; Mrs. C. P. Lamar, Director of Christian Education; Mrs. Bethany Fannin, Chairman of the Commission on Missions; and John L. Ayers, Chairman of Commission on Stewardship and Finance.

The School opens at 1:30 P.M. on the 24th in the First Methodist Church Sanctuary of Clearwater. Dinner will be served for all present at 6:00 P.M. and classes will resume at 7 P.M. and continue until adjournment at 9:00 o'clock.

Pastors will meet with Bishop Branscomb, the Chairmen of Official Boards will meet with Rev. Hoyt Fatum, District Superintendent; Chairmen of the Commissions on Membership and Evangelism with Dr. C. Lloyd Daugherty of the General Board; Chairmen of the Commissions on Education with Drs. Walter Townend and Glenn Gothard of the General Board; Chairmen of the Commissions on Missions with Dr. G. A. Engle, General Secretary of the Joint Section of Education and Cultivation of the Board of Missions of the Methodist Church (New York City); and the Chairmen of the Commissions on Stewardship and Finance and Lay Leaders will meet with Dr. Earle H. McLeod, Associate Director of Field Work on the Board of Lay Activities of the Methodist Church (Chicago).

While these church leaders from the local church are attending this interboard School of Instruction, the Rev. Frazier will be attending the Regional Pension Conference of the Methodist Church being held at the Georgian Hotel, Athens, Ga., on Oct. 24-25.
