To the Federal Electors of Lincoln District.
FELLOW-CITIZENS!
While you are assailed on all quarters, on the subject of the choice of Electors of president and vice-president, which is to take place on the first Monday of November next, little or nothing has been said on a subject of equal importance, which you will be called to act upon, at the same time: I mean the choice of your Representatives for the next Congress.
This extraordinary silence, is perhaps owing to a persuasion that no opposition will be made to the re-election of your present worthy and valuable Representative.
Since however, the democrats work in darkness, and frequently exhibit most strength under the disguise of indifference you, will not take it amiss to be warned, that on your exertion alone will depend the result of the election
It is well known that a certain Judge, who offered himself at the last election, first to the federalists and then to the democrats, and was rejected by both, is making great personal exertions to gain his point this time. He has found it convenient at last, to display the bloody flag, and acknowledge himself, what he was ever known to be by most of you—a decided and thorough going democrat. He has practised a meanness; novel in this part of the country, of going about soliciting votes for himself.
'Tis moreover asserted, that the democrats, after great struggles, from mere necessity have come to a resolution to adopt this ridiculous empiric, and give him their undivided support.
And strange to tell, 'tis further said, that the great Boston mercantile company; composed of men of influence, and of one man of unbounded ambition; have, although pretending to be federalists, publicly avowed their design to support his election.
Under these circumstances, fellow-citizens, if you do not mean to be out witted, by the jacobins, and cozened by false brethren; it behooves you to appear on the day of election, in all the strength of independent and uninfluenced freemen, and Support Col. Samuel THATCHER, who has faithfully and honorably represented you in the present and last Congress.
You have now the honor of sending to Congress the most distinguished and able speaker from the state of Massachusetts. He is a worthy associate of the Connecticut delegation, that band of patriots, which has checked, and will continue to check, the aspiring power of the southern over the northern states.
Col. Thatcher, for the short time he has been in Congress, has acquired a character and influence which affords a prospect of his becoming one of the first statesmen in the country.—
The loss of his election, more especially if occasioned by the success of his very feeble and conceited competitor, will be a dire and lasting disgrace to this District.
Rouse, then, fellow-citizens! Appear in strength on the approaching day of election—shew by your votes, that you remember those who have labored for your interest, and that you despise the intrigues and apostasy of time-servers.

Main Argument
federal electors must re-elect col. samuel thatcher to congress by turning out in force, as a democrat judge opponent is gaining support from democrats and false federalists, to avoid disgrace and counter southern influence.
