Gunpowder Plot.

On Friday last two men came into this town with four casks of powder slung across two horses. Messrs. Starling & Massie, McCoy, Brown & Goodale, merchants, each purchased a cask, and paid the fellows their money, when they immediately decamped. On examining the casks they were found to contain a few pounds of good powder at top, and the remainder Indian meal, in which were packed large stones. The scoundrels were immediately pursued, but have not since been heard of. One of them said his name was Joseph Sullivan.
