Mr. Calhoun's Speech.
The speech of this distinguished Statesman upon his resolutions, have produced a most decided impression throughout the country, and it is regarded as one of his greatest efforts. He defends with unanswerable arguments, the line policy, which he suggested during the last session, and argues that the policy recommended by the President, would end in the annihilation of Mexico and lead to the most disastrous consequences to our own country. We have not the space in our present number to give a more extended synopsis of the speech but will endeavor in our next to lay it before our readers.
