The brigantine Peggy and Hannah, Capt. Benjamin Mayo, left Surinam for Boston with a full cargo, on the 27th of September but on the 19th ult. in lat 35, 25, long. 67. 57, he met with a gale of wind, in which the brigantine sprang a leak, and notwithstanding all the endeavours of the people on board, gained on them so fast, that on the 21st, at day break, they got their boat out with an intention of quitting her, when providentially the brigantine Sally, Capt. Cane from Londonderry, hove in sight, who kindly took the said Capt. Mayo and his crew on board, and brought them here.
