Will Be Located
On Brevard Site

Friday, June 26. - Brevard was selected by the educational commission of the Western North Carolina Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, today as the location of the junior college to be formed by merging Weaver and Rutherford Colleges.

The Rev. J. T. Mangum, of Mount Airy, secretary of the commission, announced selection of Brevard at the conclusion of a commission meeting here today.

The property on which the school will be located is a gift of the woman's council of the board of missions of the church. It will be supplemented by the donation of "several hundred acres" of land by private citizens, Mr. Mangum said.

The value of the property was estimated by Mr. Mangum at $250,000.
