A New York Girl's Assailant
Frank Holcombe, a colored man, accused of attempting a criminal assault upon Clara Rhodes, seventeen years of age, of Alabama Centre Genesee county, N. Y., on May 20 last, has been caught in Lockport. He was taken to Batavia, where he will be tried. Holcombe is about thirty years old and is a resident of Medina. He was employed last spring by Farmer Rhodes, and during the absence of the family from home rushed into the house and threw the daughter down. She told him that if he would get her a drink of water, she would not resist him further. While the negro was at the well the girl ran out to the road and by her screams brought assistance.
