Full Text

A variety of extracts, badly translated, from the proceedings of Assembly of Notables have made their appearance in several papers, with shrewd observations, &c. It is well known that assemblies like this, in a monarchical country are very uncommon; and, as the royal legislative business which may originate in this grand Assembly of the Kingdom of France, will doubtless be of the most important nature to that nation, and not a little interesting to the United States.. we have hitherto declined publishing them until corrected copy can be obtained, through the medium of the Literary Journals of France, when they shall be carefully translated and given, for the public perusal, in a series of the numbers of this journal.
