ENGINEERS PASS THROUGH.

Part of the Second Colorado Regiment En Route to Manila.

Company I of the Second Regiment, Third Battalion, Engineers, of Colorado, passed through this city last night at 7:30 o'clock on the westbound overland train, on its way to San Francisco.

The members of the Red Cross Society received them at the depot and made them welcome.

One of the men said that Utah was the coldest State that they had found "It is different here, however." said he. "Ever since we struck the California line we have been feasted and welcomed. There are only two States, anyhow, California and Colorado." As the train steamed out of the depot they gave three cheers for the Red Cross.

The company is composed of picked men. Chief of the Fire Department Beattie of Colorado Springs, the son of Secretary of State Glaefcke of Wyoming, and the son of Senator John B. Schermerhorn are members of it. Colonel Willard Young is in command of the regiment, but has gone to Santiago.

Captain T. W. M. Draper and Lieutenant Charles Kern are with the company.
