Full Text
It is grateful to the true patriot and philanthropist to reflect that while the hot-headed partizans of our Country, callous to every feeling of humanity, are for kindling up the flames of war, and rendering our land a field of blood, there are wise and virtuous men of the federal party, who are conscientious and prudent, some of whom have already enlisted under the banner of republicanism, from a full conviction of its rationality and sublimity, and of the wisdom of the measures adopted and pursued by our government, since the introduction of Jefferson to the Chief Magistry. Mighty is the force, and resistless the evidence of truth on minds seeking to know and embrace it.
