Full Text

Extract of another letter from London, of the same date.

The colonists have shewn a proper spirit in opposing the injudicious measures of arbitrary power. Their firmness is now to be tried. The duty on tea, which is the tumbling block in the way of an accommodation, is not taken off with the other duties, the consequence of which is a stagnation of commerce, at least with your province; but in some other provinces there are more exceptions in their agreements against importation, which creates some kind of trade from hence with America.
