Full Text

It was rumored some time ago, that all the members of the French legation, now in America, were to be recalled. This news is partly destroyed by the arrival of the Insurgente frigate in New-York. It is now asserted, there is but a new organization in the consulates. The French minister remains in his station, altho' we are assured that he has been for some time past asking for his recall. The office of Consul General is suppressed, and citizen Letombe, now in that office, is appointed consul in Philadelphia; Citizen Delauney, who had formerly that appointment, and who happens to be in France, by leave, will take the place of Citizen Mozard, in Boston. This last is, it is said, destined to some interesting appointment in the French Colonies. The Consulates of New York and Baltimore are changed into mere vice consulates.
