Separation of Maine.

A late communication on this subject, has excited much attention and revived its consideration in the minds of many. An event of so much importance to this District demands the serious attention of every one. It is a subject that ought to be considered as entirely independent of any party or political considerations; but as merely involving the interest and welfare of the District. If a Separation should be deemed expedient on these principles, it will easily obtain; and we soon expect to lay some publications before the people, which will assist them in a determination, should the question be seriously agitated.
