Tax Reduction Is Discussed
Business leaders from various parts of the valley attended a meeting held in the Dunlack at Brawley last night to discuss various phases of taxation and means for reducing it.
Informal talks were made by a number of those present, the prevailing opinion being that something should be done to lower the heavy taxation burden from land and property and distribute it among other agencies.
Suggestions included placing a tax on non-essentials. A state income tax was also suggested.
It was advocated that another and larger meeting be held in a month and at that time it is hoped to have definite plans ready for submission.
A complimentary dinner was served the meeting by the Dunlack hotel management.
