Chipeta, the squaw of Ute Chief Ouray, the white man's friend, while passing through Alamosa from the Shan Kive carnival at Colorado Springs to the southern Ute Indian reservation near Durango while talking to a reporter of the Empire, said we would have a very deep snow this winter but we would not experience very cold weather.
Chipeta is 92 years of age and having spent her life in the open air on the great plains of Colorado and in the Rocky mountains, may know what she is saying in regards to the coming winter to Colorado.--Alamosa Empire.
