The Excursion to Genoa.
The excursion to Genoa yesterday, is deserving of a more extended notice, than we have space for to day. The excursionists from this place, occupied four passenger cars, which were comfortably filled. To most of those who went out, it was their first visit to Genoa. The scenery on the line of the road, is unsurpassed on the route of any other in the west. The succession of prairie, groves, beautiful lakes, &c, renders the trip over the road full of interest and attraction.
The location and prospective business importance of the village of Genoa; the hospitalities of its people, are matters worthy of being dwelt upon. The time was pleasantly spent at Genoa, in listening to short speeches, and to most excellent music from Phelps' and Whitcomb's band. The President of the road—Mr. Z. G. Simmons, is deserving of much credit for the good arrangements on the occasion.
