Distressing.--The Montreal Herald relates a melancholy catastrophe in the family of the Rev. Asa Meach, who, it is said recently removed from Canterbury, Connecticut, to Hull, on Grand or Ottawa river. Mr. M. had carried part of his family to that place in the winter season, and through Montreal with the remainder on the 20th ult. to join his family anticipating a happy meeting after his toils--but, distressing to relate, on Wednesday the 22d, as his wife, his second son, and two youngest children were crossing a small creek to make a visit to the family of P. Wright, Esq. they were unfortunately turned over, and thrown into the river and all drowned. The bodies of Mrs. Meach and the two youngest children were found soon after.
