Friday last Capt. Dicey arrived here in 42 Days from Lisbon who brings the following great and glorious Piece of News, Viz.
THAT on the 14th of August last a Courier dispatch'd from France came to Lisbon, and brought an Account, that a large Detachment from Prince Ferdinand's Army had fell in with five Battalions of the French Troops that were guarding 60 loaded Waggons for M. Broglio's Army, and had taken the Whole Convoy, together with all the Waggons.
Capt. Dicey sail'd from Lisbon the 20th of the same Month, in Company with Capt. Budden of Philadelphia, and the Day they came out, they met with a Packet from Falmouth going in; he had been out 7 Days, and Capt. Budden (being the nearest) went on board of her, and the Captain gave him the following short Account, viz. "That Prince Ferdinand had a general Engagement with the French Army under Marshal Broglio, and after a long and Bloody Battle, had entirely defeated them, and that it would be impossible for the French to act against him this Year."
Capt. Collins was to sail for Cape Ann in about 10 Days after Capt. Dicey, by whom we expect a more particular Account of this important Affair.
