Full Text

At Riverside.

The pastor, Rev. J. C. Troy, preached at Riverside M. E. church, South, yesterday morning, from the text "Whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap."

He denied the truth of the old saying, that boys must sow their wild oats, and depicted in plain language the dreadful consequences of a transgression of God's laws, punishment for which violation comes more surely than for the breaking of earthly laws. The sermon was earnest, forcible and appealing. On the third Sunday in October a revival will begin at this church, Mr. Troy being assisted by Rev. Mr. Surratt of Concord.
