BLOOD TYPING PROGRAM CONSIDERED SUCCESS

Health officials consider that the blood typing program completed Saturday night was a moderate success in Seward.

Many residents have been typed previously and have cards, but a total of 800 others were typed during the five day program.

A total of 427 school children now carry cards, and of the adult group 92 persons were entered in the walking blood bank and donors for Seward Sanatorium and the Hospital.

Mrs. LaPreal Bie, speaking for Civil Defense, Red Cross and the Sanatorium, expressed public thanks for volunteers who helped put the program across.

Commercial students from the high school did the clerical work in the daytime, other volunteers took over for the night sessions. Nurses from the Association assisted in the typing.

A deficit is what remains when the bottom falls out of good intentions.
