Time is getting short for getting in entries and entry blanks for the Georgia Open meet. All players who have not already complied with the orthodox procedure for entering are asked to mail in entry fees by money order or cashier's check to Harold H. Thomas, secretary-treasurer, the Atlanta Tennis Club, 154 Ashby street. S W. All entries must be in by midnight of Tuesday, August 2. Bracketing will be done in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. The Tuskegee delegation, which can remain but the last three days of the tourney, was granted special permission to arrive for play on Thursday morning at eight o'clock, but their entries must be in at the scheduled hour.

Things are beginning to take shape. Jacksonville, West Palm Beach, Fort Benning, Tuskegee and Atlanta will be battling this year. Jacksonville's bid will be stronger than ever with Lewis and Pearson for the men's singles and doubles and E. Spencer, runner-up at Florida and the former Florida champion, for the ladies' singles West Palm Beach will be in the running with the Russel brothers Hastings and Curry. Fort Benning's biggest threat will be packed by C. R. Penrose and Collins in the men's singles and doubles, and Lonie Curtis and Mrs Warfield in the ladies' singles and doubles. Tuskegee will pack more than a mean threat with the Jackson brothers, Drs. H. O. Matthews. J. B. Garrett, T. T. Tildon. and S. O. Johnson, and Emanuel McDuffie in the men's singles and doubles, and Mrs. Abbott in the women's singles. and P. D. Davis, Jr.. and Ernest Me Campbell in the junior singles. Atlanta will have to depend heavily on Ben Davis. Jr.. Ralph Long and Leonard Archer in the men's singles; Long and Nelson Archer. and Leonard Archer and Howard Archer in the men's doubles, and Alfred Holmes. James Jones and Harold Ellison in the junior singles, and the perennial Demery and Hill in ladies' singles and doubles. backed by Marion Pharrow.
