A MAN WITH HIS THROAT CUT.—There arrived this morning at the Surgical Institute, a man named Thomas Winne, with his throat cut. About two weeks ago, while walking into Terre Haute on the railroad track, he was set upon by a number of men, knocked down, robbed, and had his throat cut so as to partially sever the windpipe. The man is compelled to inhale air through the incision, and manages to live by so doing. He is unable to articulate a single word except in a whisper, and then very feebly. The stench arising from his wound is most sickening. The surgeons will endeavor to save his life, but it is certain that at present he holds it by no sure tenure.—Indianapolis News, Feb. 13.
