We understand that John Brown and Thomas Davis, mariners, belonging to Baltimore, in the State of Maryland, who were ship-wrecked in 1815 or 1816 upon the Coast of Africa, where they fell into the hands of the Arabs of Lower Suez, have been released from the slavery of these people, by the zealous exertions of Mr. Simpson, our Consul at Tangier, and the benevolent co-operation of Mr. Wiltshire, the British Consul at Mogadore;—and that Archibald Robbins, who belonged to the brig Commerce, Captain Riley, wrecked upon the same coast, is also released from the slavery of the Arabs of the Desert of Sahara, through the same means.

These three men were at Tangier the 5th April last, ready to embark for Gibraltar, on their way to the United States.
