PARIS, MAY 31.

Extract of a letter from Dublin, May 21.

"The following most extraordinary affair has been spoken of for some days past, in several companies; and as it is exceedingly singular in its nature, we give it only as a report, and however to be supported by several authentick letters from Cashel. There is a social club held in that city, at which the ladies, as well as gentlemen, of the town are admitted--The last club night among the company present, there were four young ladies, whose beauty shone superior to that of all others in the room. One of these four is said to have particularly engaged, during the whole evening, the admiration and converse of M--a--y, which proved by the undermentioned extraordinary event to have been greatly mortifying to her three rivals. The favourite fair in fact so entirely engrossed the attention of this and other young gentlemen, that the other beauties at length became neglected. The next day the belle of the evening was waited on by her three handsome companions, and a walk proposed. Having proceeded about half a mile on the turnpike road, they turned into the fields, when, O wonderful to tell! the three neglected ladies suddenly fell foul of the lovely maid above mentioned, tore her face with their nails in a shocking manner, and violently plucked up by the root a pair of the most charming eye brows that ever adorned a forehead. A serjeant belonging to Cashel barrack passing by at the instant, over heard the young lady's shrieks, flew to her assistance and rescued her from the three young jealous and envious viragos. The fair victim of their malice is mentioned to be in a very dangerous way, her face being disfigured in a manner resembling the tatooing of the Indians, and her mind in a most delirious state from the moment she was brought home. Whether she lives or dies, females who were guilty of so unwarrantable and atrocious an outrage will be prosecuted, it is said, with the utmost severity of the law."
