We last Saturday notified our readers that a married lady of this city had been carrying on a liaison more exciting than the Myers and Hoyt affair, and with two gallants. The Herald stole our thunder and added another to the list, but we have since been informed on good authority that the lady in question confessed to sixteen distinct and separate lovers, and that the husband, not willing to kill off so many nice young men, has determined to bring suits for crim. con. against them all. These actions will bring quite a series of wind-falls to our learned friends, the members of the bar, as the gallants are all men of family and fortune, who having enjoyed the cooings of this turtle dove, can afford to do the billing which ever terminates such affairs. This modern Circe is young and fascinating, of rich connections, and moved in the first circles of our haut ton. To add to the singularity of the affair, she has furnished the evidence against herself and her friends, and has been sent into seclusion until divorced.
