PROVIDENCE, February 24.

On Monday and Tuesday last we had a violent Storm.---A Ship from Newport, bound to Holland, which sailed on Sunday Morning, endeavouring to put back on Monday, unfortunately ran on the Kettle-Bottom Rock about Ten at Night, where she narrowly escaped being lost. After Thumping some Time, the Violence of the Wind forced her over the Reef, with the Loss of her Sheathing, and she came to an Anchor under Conanicut, where two Pumps could but just keep her above Water when the Account came away.
